How To Change File Date In Windows 7

Howdy Robert,

You tin can modify the date created by copying a file. The file's created date becomes the modified date and the electric current date (when the file is copied) becomes the created date. Y'all tin can re-create a file on your PC to check.

Let united states know if you need farther help.

Hello Jelo.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Aye that would work, simply I want to change it to a specific date.

Is there any command like the touch -d command in Linux?

Nosotros appreciate your response. The easiest mode for you to change the files to a specific date is by using a 3rd party application that y'all can search in Windows Shop. Or yous tin can also mail service a feedback almost your query using the Feedback Hub, which is readily available in Windows 10.

Regards.

Robert,

I use the 3rd party utility SKTimeStamp - Stefan's Tools and information technology works very well for what you want.  It adds a tab to the file's Backdrop so information technology is like shooting fish in a barrel to use - where y'all can see the existing entries beneath you tin can just overwrite them with the dates-times that you want.

You could use the built-in capabilities of Powershell to practise this chore only you would have to work out a user interface to adjust your needs.  SKTimeStamp covers that already.
