Google’s Valentine’s Day Doodle is All Heart–and Some Politics - stringersieneat91
Google's Valentine's Day scrabble, a sweet TV co-animated by Michael Lipman of Happy Tree Friends fame, packs a small but powerful ethnical message about spousal relationship equation you said it materialism — even with the avail of Google searches — can't solve problems of the inwardness.
The doodle tells the tarradiddle of a boy who has a infatuation connected a jump-roping lady friend, and in an effort to court her, uses Google to hunting for gift ideas. With Tony Bennett's cover of "Frigidness, Cold Heart" crooning in the background, the boy tries again and again, lavishing her with flowers, chocolates, a diver's helmet, and magic tricks, until he's nigh defeated. And then he reappears one day with a common interest — a skipping rope — and wins her affections.
It's mortifying for Google to confess that even with its super mighty search engine sure-footed of finding any and all gifts, much things can't solve entirely our problems, especially when it comes to human emotions.
Another great moment comes at the tail end of the video. There's a collage of a bunch together of happy couples together. There's a spaceman and an alienate; a princess and a anuran; a dog and cat; a bookish pair; a biscuit and a carton of milk; and deuce men wearing tuxedoes and holding hands, which I took to imply that they're a gay twain getting married.
Perfect timing, too. Yesterday, Washington state legalized gay marriage ceremony — potentially with the avail of a letter to the governor from Microsoft and five other technical school companies — and the Hot Tee shirt US Senate likewise voted pro of allowing same-sex marriages, though the bill has whatever challenges ahead.
That Google would tip a hat to cheery marriage shouldn't come as a surprise — Google is a very vocal supporter of gay rights. But even if you didn't see what I saw, it's heartening to watch a Valentine's Day content about all different kinds of love … that isn't also blotto with consumerism.
